Welcome to Cats Protection Swale Branch

Run by a small team of dedicated, cat-loving volunteers, our branch is passionate about improving the lives of cats and kittens in Swale, covering postcodes ME9, ME10, ME11, ME12 and ME13.

We’re always working to find loving forever homes for the cats and kittens in our care. We also offer support with neutering, feline welfare and lost and found cats, as well as providing general feline education and raising awareness in the Swale area.

Cat adoption in Swale

Would you like to provide a loving new home for a cat or kitten?

You can start the process by requesting a questionnaire or by calling 0345 371 2755.

There is a lot to think about when adopting a cat or kitten, but Cats Protection aims to make the adoption process seamless, providing plenty of advice along the way. You’ll also have easy access to great help and advice on cat care and other online learning on the Cats Protection website.

We take our work seriously, so during the adoption process we’ll consider everything from your potential cat’s personality (and how this fits with your lifestyle) to your home environment, allowing us to find the perfect match between cat and owner.

All potential adopters will have a virtual or in-person home visit, arranged at a mutually convenient time, to ensure a successful start to your wonderful feline friendship. For further information download our home-visit leaflet.

The cats and kittens available for adoption from the Swale branch are featured below. To express your interest in a particular cat, please enquire via their listing.

Please note that we do not have a main shelter for public visits. All of our cats are placed in foster homes until we can find them forever families.

Support Cats Protection Swale Branch

None of our vital work would be possible without you. There are many ways you can be there for cats and kittens in the Swale area.

Earlier this year, we received a call about a litter of five kittens found on the side of the road. Our volunteers quickly collected them from the vet where they’d been taken by a taxi driver. Our Welfare Team Leader spent the night feeding the five-week-old kittens every hour to build their strength, keeping them warm and safe. Bailey, Lima, Juba, Havana and Tallinn are now eight weeks old, and they’re about to start the process of vaccinations and microchipping.

We share this story to give you some insight into the difficult situations we face. This year, we’ve seen the rate of abandoned cats and kittens increase by over 30%. So, we’ve launched a special appeal to help cats and kittens, like this, who are in life-threatening situations.

We receive no government funding and rely heavily on members of the public to support our work. Your donations provide the veterinary services, food and expert care that abandoned cats and kittens need, until we find them a loving forever home.

Every small gift makes a difference.
