Welcome to Cats Protection Glastonbury & Wells Branch

The Glastonbury & Wells Branch of Cats Protection, covers a largely rural part of Somerset including Shepton Mallet, Wells, Glastonbury, Street, Cheddar and Castle Cary, covering postcodes: BA4, BA5, BA6, BA7, BA16, BS27.

Our cats are kept at the homes of volunteer fosterers because we do not have a central cattery. Our branch is committed to making life better for the homeless cats of Somerset. We are a small team of dedicated, cat-loving volunteers, passionate about improving the lives of cats and kittens in Glastonbury & Wells, working to find loving new homes for local cats in our care, and lost and found cats, as well as general education and awareness within the Glastonbury & Wells area. You can find out more about the work of Cats Protection here.

HELP WITH NEUTERING

If you are in receipt of benefits, our branch can give financial support for the neutering of your cat or kitten. The amount of support will depend on the veterinary practice being used.

Please contact Gill on 01749 850660 or Julia on 07833 634087 for advice. Or you can message by email through the contact section.

Cat adoption in Glastonbury & Wells

Could you provide a loving new home for a cat in Glastonbury & Wells? During the process of adopting a cat from us, we will consider everything from the potential cat’s personality, your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner to enable the start of a wonderful feline friendship.

Cats available for adoption from Glastonbury & Wells are featured below. We ask for an adoption fee of £85 for an adult cat and £105 for a kitten, which will go towards the cost of feeding and vet visits. It may be possible to reduce the adoption fee for cats aged 12 years and over. The fosterer will discuss with potential adopter by taking into account current state of the cat's health and the actual age of the cat in question.

To express your interest in a particular cat, please fill out the online application form.

Volunteer at Cats Protection Glastonbury & Wells Branch

Without volunteers, Glastonbury & Wells Branch simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We are ALWAYS looking for help with a wide variety of tasks. There is pretty much something for everyone! Our hope is that our volunteers will enjoy helping the cats of Somerset. The work has its serious side but we try to have some fun along the way. If you decide to volunteer, you can be sure that we will not nag or pester you into taking on more than you feel comfortable with. Whether you can offer help for an hour a week or a day a week, it will all make a difference. All authorised expenses will be paid by our charity and there is always help and support to new volunteers.

You can find out more about volunteering for Cats Protection here.
