Jump 12,000ft and experience 40 seconds of freefall to help make a better life for cats
The Kent Skydive will be from 12,000ft and will take place at Headcorn Airfield.
Your day will begin with an introduction to the GoSkydive team and what to expect from your tandem skydive. Next you will be given specialist training by an experienced tandem master in a simulated training environment.
After your introduction and welcome onsite, the friendly ground crew will kit you up in a tandem skydive jumpsuit and fit your safety harness.
This British Skydiving approved training session will last approximately 10 to 15 minutes and will contain all the necessary training and information required to equip you for your tandem skydive.
Once your training is complete you will go through to the departure area where you will meet your personal tandem skydive instructor, who will escort you to the plane. Once inside they will secure your harness to theirs and the flight will depart.
Once the flight has reached altitude, the high adrenaline freefall starts as you and your instructor jump from 12,000 ft.
You will literally fall through the air and rush towards the earth at approximately 125 mph, lasting approximately 40 seconds.
The rush is spectacular and is often described as being transported to another world.
At 5,000 ft your tandem instructor will deploy the parachute, this will slow your rate of descent.
As you come into land, you’ll bring your legs up into the landing position that you will have practised in your pre-jump training. The ground crew will be there to meet you and make sure you land safely before guiding you to an area to ’de-kit’.
There is a registration fee of £100 and we ask you to aim for a target of £500 sponsorship commitment to help make better lives for cats.
Please note: we will cover the cost of the skydive if the full £500 minimum sponsorship target is reached, otherwise each participant will have to pay the remaining £199. Please aim to have raised 80% of the target by four weeks before the event.
The money you raise will help us to be there for all cats, you make our work possible
In the event of a refusal by the passenger to jump and exit the aircraft, no refunds or repeat attempts will be given.
Please make sure you wear comfortable clothing and lace- up shoes (for example, trainers).
Failure to wear the correct clothing may result in you being unable to jump.
It is GoSkydive’s policy to ask anyone behaving inappropriately to leave the premises. Any person suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to jump. The rules and regulations of the centre and airfield must be adhered to at all times.
It is vital that you arrive at the tandem skydive centre by the allocated arrival time in order to complete the training and administration. Failure to do so may result in the loss of your booking fee and being unable to carry out your jump.
There is a weight limit of 15 stone/95kg and all jumpers will need to declare themselves fit to jump using a 115a British Skydiving Medical Form. If for any reason they feel they cannot sign this form then form 115b needs to be completed and signed by a doctor in order for the participant to jump.
Some disabilities may need an assessment at the centre prior to the jump date by our Chief Instructor. Please contact us if you require further assistance with this.
The minimum age to participate in the skydive is 18 years old.
Your skydive experience will last approximately three to five hours. However, skydiving is a weather dependent activity and we ask that you allow the full day in case of delays.
The money you raise will go directly towards helping local cats and kittens. Your sponsorship will provide food, shelter, care, veterinary treatment and help us find new homes for cats and kittens in need.
