We're here to support cats and kittens in Ferndown homing centre, covering all postcodes in the BH area as well as many in the DT, SP and SO postcode areas.

Run by a dedicated team of cat lovers, we're passionate about improving the lives of cats and kittens in Ferndown homing centre, working to find loving new homes for local cats in our care, and lost and found cats, as well as general education and awareness within the Ferndown homing centre area. *Please note due to the volume of cats needing our help in the area, we are currently working with a waiting list while we work to help those most urgently needing to come into care, and those already in our care as quickly as we can.   We therefore recommend early contact should you need to rehome your cat(s).  If you wish to discuss this with our team please contact the centre for more information.*

Cat adoption in Dorset

Could you provide a loving new home for a cat in Ferndown homing centre? During the process of adopting a cat(s) from us, we’ll consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – looking to create the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship.   Any new addition to a household is likely to take a little time to adjust and learn about their new lives – some are quicker than others, so it is important to consider this when looking to adopt to ensure this is the right time for you, the cat(s) and your household.

To support the needs of the cats whilst in our care, we would advise that introductions are via appointments against matched applications, meaning general "walk around" cattery visits are no longer available.  However, if you are visiting the centre during our opening hours, our team will be pleased to discuss the adoption process with you.

Our adoption fees are £85 per cat / £105 per kitten, payable on collection.  There will also be options to purchase supplies, join our membership scheme or to donate to help us in our work.

Please note: if you live in rented accommodation, we will require a copy of your tenancy agreement or letter from your landlord stating how many pets you can have in your home.  Talking to your landlord ahead of time to obtain written permission to have a cat/cats, ensures no delays or disappointment.

Without volunteers, Ferndown homing centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

Our shop area stocks a wide range of new and second-hand cat care items.  From food and litter to enrichment items for your home, we're here to help with your new addition(s), with all profits helping more cats in need.
