CAT OF THE MONTH for OCTOBER 2024: DEXTER

12-year-old Dexter is very friendly, affectionate and chatty!  He is a chill cat, who loves human company and attention.  He is on medication for a thyroid imbalance and a heart condition, and he is good at taking his meds.  Dexter has had bad luck, and deserves a happy ending.  Could you be his special somebody?

Run by a small team of dedicated, cat-loving volunteers, we're passionate about improving the lives of cats and kittens in Oxford & District, working to find loving new homes for local cats in our care, and lost and found cats, as well as general education and awareness within the Oxford & District area. You can find out more about the work of Cats Protection here.

Cat adoption in Oxford & District

We have lots of cats waiting for loving homes!  Adopting an adult cat is just as nice as getting a kitten - their personalities are already developed and ready to open up under your loving care to give years of fun and joy.    Experienced owners often love to give an elder cat happy twilight years. Have a look at what cats are currently auditioning for new caregivers!

During the process of adopting a cat from us, we’ll consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship.

There is an adoption fee of £100 per cat or £120 per kitten. All are micro-chipped, vaccinated, treated for parasites and come with 4 weeks PetPlan insurance. All cats and kittens over 5 months are neutered. A voucher towards the cost of neutering younger kittens will be sent to the vet of your choice when the kitten is ready. There may be a small shortfall at some vets, payable by the new owner. If the cat or kitten has not yet had a second, booster vaccination, which must be done 3 weeks after the first, the adopter must arrange and pay for it.

Cats available for adoption from Oxford & District are featured below. To express your interest in a particular cat, please enquire via their listing. If you have any general enquiries about your suitability, or the adoption process, please call us on: 01235 221 147 or email us.
