Welcome to Cats Protection Skegness & District Branch

We’re here to support cats and kittens in Skegness, Mablethorpe, Alford and Spilsby, covering postcodes: LN12, LN13, PE22, PE23, PE24, and PE25

Run by a small team of dedicated, cat-loving volunteers, we’re dedicated to improving the lives of cats and kittens in Skegness and the surrounding areas, working to find loving new homes for local cats in our care, offering support with neutering, and lost and found cats, as well as general education and awareness within the Skegness area. You can find out more about the work of Cats Protection here.

Please note, as at December 2023, this Branch has closed our Waiting List for Admissions and we are no longer able to take into care cats or kittens, unless they were originally adopted from Cats Protection.

Feral & Farm Cats

Our Branch offers TNR (Trap, Neuter & Return) for feral and farm cats.  Ferals (non-domestic cats that cannot be handled) are trapped (trap provided), taken to our Branch vet where they are health checked, blood tested, neutered, vaccinated, fleaed and wormed, and ear tipped, before being released back on the site where they live. Our branch covers the costs of all treatment and neutering so please get in touch if you have a feral cat or colony that needs neutering.  Cats breed quickly and just a couple of stray cats can produce over 20 feral cats in under a year, so please don’t delay in contacting us for help.

Cat adoption in Skegness, Mablethorpe, Alford and Spilsby

Could you provide a loving new home for a cat in Skegness, Mablethorpe, Alford or Spilsby? During the process of adopting a cat from us, we’ll consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship.

Adopting a cat from Cats Protection Skegness Branch:

  • Enquire. If you’ve found a cat on our website that you’re interested in homing, send an enquiry using our online form, or call us on 0345 260 1383.
  • Reserve your cat. If you’re found to be a match for your chosen cat, we'll reach out via phone or email.  You may have a virtual home check (via WhatsApp) and be asked for proof of your address and the consent of your landlord (if you live in a rented property). During these calls, you’ll have a chance to discuss everything you need to know about your cat.
  • Adopt.  Once you've reserved your cat, you’ll be sent adoption paperwork to sign. At this point, you'll need to pay an adoption fee of £85 for an adult cat or £105 for a kitten (five months and under), usually by bank transfer.
  • Bringing your cat home.  Once this is finalised, we’ll arrange for a driver to bring your cat safely to your home.
  • Be supported. We'll call you around three, 10 and 28 days after the adoption to check that your new arrival is settled in.

Please note we do not rehome cats or kittens to families with very young children or to properties on busy or main roads.
